Epic Seven: Hwayoung nerf (2024)

Super Creative Inc announced that Hwayoung will be nerfed, to provide a balanced player-versus-player gaming mode in Epic Seven.

Epic Seven is an adventurous video game that invites gamers to assume the role of the Heir of the Covenant. The story began when the Goddess of Life used her diminishing power to give life to the Guardians, and the Heir.

As the Heir, it is your responsibility to recruit heroes and defeat monsters to restore peace and harmony to the fictitious world.

There are currently more than 170 heroes that you can collect and play with, each of which has unique abilities and skills. One of the heroes that you can obtain is Hwayoung, who is considered one of the best heroes in Epic Seven.

Unfortunately, the game’s developer, Super Creative Inc, has nerfed her.

Hwayoung

Hwayoung is a Fire Warrior that players can acquire from the Covenant Summon in-game. She is a universal, single, target, attacker, which makes her perfect for all the game modes in Epic Seven.

She does not deal critical hits and thus, will not trigger anyone that responds to them poorly. Moreover, Hwayoung’s third skill cooldown is incredibly low, as it can be used every 3 turns when it has reached its maximum level.

Although the damage that she deals is extremely high, her barriers are strong, which makes her a tanky hero. Unfortunately, Hwayoung does not have any area-of-effect skills and players have to keep her health points low in order to get her third skill’s bonus damage.

Epic Seven: Hwayoung nerf

Hwayoung was regarded as one of the best heroes in Epic Seven, however, Super Creative announced that they will be adjusting her skills.

The table below lists Epic Seven Hwayoung skills before and after the nerf, to indicate what adjustments have been made. Bear in mind that the probability and the number of turns below are based on fully enhanced Heroes:

Why did they nerf Hwayoung?

The reason for the nerf is because Hwayoung’ overbearing influence has been difficult to suppress throughout a large portion of the game.

Allegedly, there has been a significant decrease in using other Attack-based heroes in the player-versus-player gaming mode, as all players used Hwayoung.

This has caused several difficulties as the game’s developer worked to provide appropriate balance adjustments and diverse PvP content.

Even though the developer sought to reduce her impact in the current meta with several indirect approaches, they concluded that it was necessary to resolve the issue directly.

Recalling Hwayoung

The recall policy pertaining to recalling a hero due to a balance adjustment that reduced their viability will be changed. You can now exchange your recall target for another Hero of the same grade that has been released as of the recall starting date.

Hwayoung’s recall period will last 2 weeks, after the maintenance on Monday, 10 October 2022. You will only be able to recall Hwayoung if she is in your Hero Inventory.

If Hwayoung is in your Hero Storage, you must move her to your Hero Inventory.

Will other Epic Seven heroes be nerfed?

There is a possibility that other Epic Seven heroes may be nerfed in the future. Super Creative Inc will carefully monitor and review the balance trends to prove a balanced and diverse player-versus-player gaming mode where various heroes are frequently used.
