Easy Burger Recipe with Fried Egg - Recipe Diaries (1)

There is a restaurant here in Fargo called JL Beers. It's this small tiny narrow building and when you first look at it from the outside you wonder how they sit people in there. They serve beer and burgers and that is pretty much it. There is this one burger on their menu called the Humpty Dumpty. It’s pretty much the ideal breakfast burger and served with bacon and a fried egg on top. They are so delicious and they are easy to make at home on a large griddle.

You know those popular Blackstone griddles that are trending right now? You can make these burgers on those as well. I don’t own a Blackstone griddle and this griddle works just as fine.

What Ingredients do I need?

In this section, you can find substitutes or suggestions for certain ingredients. I also will try and list out what the ingredients' purpose is for.

Bun - Brioche buns are my favorite buns to use for burgers because they toast up nicely on a grill. English muffins would be really good with these as well.

Ground Beef - Any type of ground beef will work, 80/20, 96/4/ 93/7 etc... Use leaner meats for a lower point burger. Can also sub ground turkey.

Cheese - Cheddar cheese slices or your favorite type of cheese

Eggs - Large fried eggs, there’s just something about the yolk oozing out of the egg and dripping all over the side of the burger. It gets messy so have a lot of napkins on hand.

Bacon - precooked bacon

This is too good! I think these are going to be pure bliss for the taste buds. Can I drizzle some ghee instead of oiling the grate before grilling? The unique flavor of ghee attracts me more than any other cooking fat. According to nutritionists, using ghee is a healthier choice as well.
